I haven't had much to blog about lately, lol. And I've been trying to spend that free time writing fiction. But I'm glad you miss my blog. I am sure that after a while, the two will be fast friends. Last Saturday morning, my niece and nephew came over for waffles and bacon, and Pete was hesistant to even be in the same room with them. I think really short people that move way too quickly are a little frightening to him.

Re: A Boy and His Cat

I like these pictures SO much!

Re: A Boy and His Cat

LOL! Ender's Shadow is on my to read list.

If you like dystopian fiction, try Unwind by Neal Shusterman (just read the premise, it's creepy)... oh and I loved Matched and The End of Marking Time. So many great books. :)

Re: Nine of these things belong together, nine of these things are kinda the same…

If you're on a dystopian kick, you might like Margaret Atwood's Oryx and Crake. It's in post-apocalyptic Canada. The Year of the Flood is the same story told from the perspective of one of Oryx and Crake's minor characters. Blade took me to see Margaret Atwood give a reading of Year of the Flood, and it was excellent.

Re: Regular Customers

That's a worthy goal for your retirement, Ange!

Re: Regular Customers

I liked this story, too, Lisa. When I teach "less" and "fewer" to my students, I always tell them that in my retirement, I am going to make a LOT of money by going around to all the grocery stores in the US and fixing their express lane signs to read "10 Items or Fewer." I think there's a future in it. ;-)

Re: Regular Customers

I liked this one.

Re: One to go…

You made the blog!

I think you'll have very little training to get a Sic 'Em out of the Burt Squirt--the other day he moved his arm just like that, and Mr. Burt and I immediately yelled, "Sic 'Em, Bears!" Got to train them early, right? Greg and I will put significant effort into that training the next time we see the Burt Squirt
(I may be putting actions in Greg's... hands since I'm a *slight* bit more likely to perform Sic 'em's outside a sports context, but I think he'll be okay with it).

Re: For Rich or for Poor

but what is noticeable is how happy you both look in all the pics.

It's impossible not to be happy at Disney World or with Mr. Burt. ;)

Though especially in that one with the large feast in front of you! LOL.

Happy as the honeymoon was, we were a teensy bit happier with more food to eat, it's true! Funnily enough, I was just watching an Oprah episode on happiness the other day, and there was an interesting tidbit about how up until a person's (or family's) income reaches $75,000, more money does make you happier, but after that amount, more money doesn't make you any happier. I'm not sure I entirely agree...because I think I'll be a little happier once we can afford to replace all our windows so our downstairs won't be so darn cold in the winter!
